Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism Policy
The International Journal of Artificial Intelligence, Social Sciences and Humanities (IJAISSH) maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are screened for originality using industry-standard plagiarism detection software.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the use of another person's ideas, words, data, or creative expression without proper acknowledgment. This includes:
- Direct plagiarism: Word-for-word copying without quotation marks and citation
- Paraphrasing plagiarism: Rephrasing someone else's ideas without proper attribution
- Self-plagiarism: Reusing substantial portions of one's own previously published work without disclosure
- Mosaic plagiarism: Piecing together text from multiple sources without attribution
- Data plagiarism: Using another researcher's data without permission or acknowledgment
Plagiarism Detection
All manuscripts submitted to IJAISSH are checked using plagiarism detection software (e.g., iThenticate, Turnitin, or equivalent tools) during the initial screening process. The similarity report is reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief.
Acceptable Similarity
| Similarity Level | Action |
|---|---|
| Below 15% | Acceptable — proceeds to peer review |
| 15%–25% | Author asked to revise and reduce similarity before review |
| Above 25% | Manuscript rejected — author may resubmit after substantial revision |
Note: These thresholds exclude properly quoted and cited material, references, and common phrases.
Consequences of Plagiarism
Pre-publication:
- Manuscript rejection
- Author warned formally
- Repeated offenders may be banned from future submissions
Post-publication:
- Article retraction following COPE retraction guidelines
- Retraction notice published prominently
- Author's institution notified
- Author banned from future submissions for a specified period
Reporting Plagiarism
