Author Guidelines

The International Journal of Artificial Intelligence, Social Sciences and Humanities (Int. J. Artif. Intell. Soc. Sci. Humanit.) invites scholars, researchers, and practitioners to submit original manuscripts that contribute to academic discourse on the relationship between artificial intelligence and the disciplines of social sciences and humanities. Submissions should present rigorous analysis, sound methodology, and clear scholarly argumentation.

Authors are requested to carefully follow the guidelines below when preparing their manuscripts.


1. Types of Submissions

The journal welcomes the following categories of manuscripts:

  • Research Articles – Original scholarly research presenting new arguments, findings, or theoretical insights.

  • Review Articles – Critical reviews of existing literature on themes related to artificial intelligence and society.

  • Short Notes / Commentary – Analytical discussions or perspectives on emerging issues within the journal’s scope.

  • Book Reviews – Scholarly reviews of recently published books relevant to artificial intelligence, social sciences, and humanities.


2. Scope of Submissions

Submissions should relate to the societal, ethical, political, economic, managerial, or cultural dimensions of artificial intelligence. Relevant areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Artificial intelligence and governance

  • Technology policy and regulation

  • Artificial intelligence and public administration

  • AI and economic transformation

  • Artificial intelligence and management studies

  • Ethical and philosophical perspectives on artificial intelligence

  • Artificial intelligence and digital culture

  • AI and media, communication, and information societies

  • Algorithmic accountability and institutional decision-making

  • Societal impacts of automation and intelligent systems

Interdisciplinary research that connects artificial intelligence with humanities and social science disciplines is particularly encouraged.


3. Manuscript Preparation

Authors should ensure that manuscripts conform to the following formatting requirements:

  • Language: English

  • File Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Font Size:

    • Main text: 12 pt

    • Footnotes: 10 pt

  • Line Spacing: 1.5

  • Alignment: Justified

  • Margins: Standard margins (2.54 cm / 1 inch on all sides)


4. Length of Submissions

Recommended word limits are as follows:

  • Research Articles: 4,000 – 8,000 words

  • Review Articles: 3,000 – 6,000 words

  • Short Notes / Commentary: 1,500 – 3,000 words

  • Book Reviews: 1,000 – 2,000 words

Word counts include references and footnotes unless otherwise specified.


5. Title Page and Author Details

The title page should contain:

  • Title of the manuscript

  • Name of the author(s)

  • Institutional affiliation

  • Email address

  • ORCID iD (if available)

For the purpose of double-blind peer review, the main manuscript file should not contain any identifying information about the author(s).


6. Abstract and Keywords

Each submission must include:

  • Abstract: 150–250 words summarising the objectives, methodology, and key findings of the manuscript.

  • Keywords: 4–6 keywords relevant to the article.


7. Citation and Referencing Style

The journal follows a standard academic citation format commonly used in social sciences and humanities. Authors must use the APA style (7th edition) ensuring that the citations remain consistent throughout the manuscript.

8. Tables, Figures, and Illustrations

  • Tables and figures should be clearly labelled and numbered.

  • Each table or figure must include an appropriate title and source where applicable.

  • Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material.


9. Originality and Plagiarism

Submitted manuscripts must be original and unpublished work that is not under consideration by another journal. The journal follows strict standards of academic integrity, and all submissions may be screened using plagiarism detection tools.


10. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts are subject to a double-blind peer review process. Reviewers evaluate submissions based on:

  • originality and scholarly contribution

  • methodological soundness

  • clarity of argument and structure

  • relevance to the journal’s scope

The editorial team reserves the right to accept, reject, or request revisions to submitted manuscripts.


11. Submission Procedure

Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal’s online submission system or via the designated editorial email as specified on the journal website.

Authors should ensure that all submission requirements are met before submitting their manuscript.


12. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must ensure that their submissions:

  • accurately represent their research findings

  • appropriately acknowledge sources

  • avoid plagiarism or duplicate publication

  • disclose any conflicts of interest where relevant

Submission Preparation Checklist

Before proceeding with the submission of a manuscript to the International Journal of Artificial Intelligence, Social Sciences and Humanities (Int. J. Artif. Intell. Soc. Sci. Humanit.), authors are requested to confirm that their submission complies with the following requirements. Submissions that do not adhere to these requirements may be returned to the author for correction prior to review.

Please ensure that the following conditions are met:

  • Originality of the Manuscript
    The submission is original work that has not been previously published and is not currently under consideration for publication by another journal.

  • Relevance to Journal Scope
    The manuscript falls within the scope of the journal and addresses themes related to artificial intelligence in the context of social sciences and/or humanities.

  • Manuscript File Format
    The manuscript has been prepared using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

  • Formatting Requirements
    The manuscript follows the journal’s formatting guidelines, including the use of Times New Roman font, appropriate font sizes, line spacing, and standard margins.

  • Abstract and Keywords Included
    The manuscript includes an abstract (150–250 words) and 4–6 keywords.

  • Author Identification Removed from Manuscript
    The main manuscript file has been prepared for double-blind peer review, and all identifying information about the author(s) has been removed from the text and file properties.

  • Citation and Referencing Style
    All references and citations are formatted consistently according to the journal’s accepted citation style.

  • Tables and Figures
    All tables, figures, and illustrations are clearly labelled, appropriately referenced in the text, and include sources where necessary.

  • Permissions for Copyrighted Material
    If any copyrighted material (figures, tables, images, or extensive quotations) has been used, the author has obtained the necessary permissions for reproduction.

  • Compliance with Ethical Standards
    The author confirms that the manuscript adheres to accepted standards of academic integrity and ethical research practices, including proper acknowledgment of sources and absence of plagiarism.

  • Author Details Submitted Separately
    Author name(s), institutional affiliation(s), and contact details have been provided separately as required by the submission system.

By completing the submission process, authors acknowledge that they have read and agreed to the journal’s author guidelines, peer review policy, and publication ethics standards.
