Author Guidelines

The International Journal of Artificial Intelligence, Law and Social Sciences (IJAILSS) welcomes submissions of original research that explore the intersection of artificial intelligence, legal studies, and social sciences.

Types of Submissions

  • Original Research Articles (5,000–8,000 words): Empirical or theoretical studies presenting novel findings.
  • Review Articles (6,000–10,000 words): Comprehensive, critical analyses of existing literature on a focused topic.
  • Short Communications (2,000–3,500 words): Concise reports of significant preliminary findings or commentary on timely legal-AI issues.

Manuscript Preparation

Formatting

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx)
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12pt
  • Spacing: Double-spaced throughout
  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
  • Page numbers: Bottom center

Structure

  1. Title Page: Title, author names, affiliations, ORCID IDs, corresponding author details, and word count.
  2. Abstract: 200–300 words summarizing objectives, methodology, key findings, and conclusions.
  3. Keywords: 5–7 keywords relevant to the subject area.
  4. Introduction: Background, research gap, and objectives.
  5. Literature Review / Legal Framework: Critical review of relevant literature and applicable legal frameworks.
  6. Methodology: Research design, data sources, analytical methods.
  7. Results / Analysis: Presentation and interpretation of findings.
  8. Discussion: Implications, contributions, and limitations.
  9. Conclusion: Summary of findings and recommendations.
  10. References: Complete list of cited works.

Citation Style

IJAILSS follows APA 7th Edition for social science references. For legal citations, authors should use the Bluebook (21st Edition) or the relevant jurisdiction's standard legal citation format.

Submission Process

  1. Register or log in at the IJAILSS submission portal.
  2. Upload your manuscript and supplementary files.
  3. Ensure the manuscript is anonymized for double-blind review.
  4. Include a cover letter confirming originality.

Ethical Requirements

  • All submissions must be original and not under review elsewhere.
  • Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest.
  • Use of AI tools in research or writing must be transparently disclosed.
